Shipping & Compliance
Ammunition is a regulated product. This page explains the rules we apply and what we need from you. It is not a substitute for knowing your own state and local law.
Age requirements
You must be at least 18 for rifle and shotgun ammunition and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. We ask you to confirm this, and we keep a record of that confirmation with its date. We may require proof of age and may refuse or cancel any order.
Where we ship
We ship within the United States only. We do not ship ammunition where it is prohibited, and some states, cities and counties restrict or ban the shipment of ammunition to private individuals, require a licence or permit, or require delivery through a licensed dealer. Restrictions change; it is your responsibility to know what applies to you, and placing an order is not a representation by us that delivery to your address is lawful.
Where we cannot lawfully ship to you we will cancel the order and refund it. We do not ship to PO boxes, and ammunition ships by ground only — it cannot travel by air.
Trade accounts
No federal firearms licence is required to buy ammunition, and a dealer or distributor account does not depend on holding one. Where an account does hold an FFL and supplies it, we verify it against the ATF eZ Check service, record that verification, and ship to the licensed premises on file; if that licence expires we suspend the account until it is renewed. Firearms, where offered, are a separate matter and transfer only through a licensed dealer.
Hazmat and freight
Ammunition is shipped as ORM-D or limited quantity under applicable hazardous materials rules. Pallet-scale orders ship by freight and require a delivery point that can receive a pallet; a lift gate or inside delivery may cost extra. Someone must be present to sign.
Damage, shortages and returns
Inspect your shipment on arrival and note any damage or shortage on the carrier's paperwork before signing — a clear signature makes a freight claim very difficult. Tell us within five business days. For safety and legal reasons we cannot accept the return of ammunition once it has left our control except where it is defective or we shipped the wrong item; contact us first and do not return anything without authorisation.
Refusal of service
We may refuse or cancel any order, or decline or close any account, where we believe a sale would be unlawful, where licence or age information cannot be verified, or where an order shows signs of straw purchasing or diversion. We report what we are required to report.
