Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live you may have some or all of the rights below. We apply them to everyone who asks, rather than checking your address first.
What you can ask for
- A copy of your data. We will give you the categories and the specific pieces of personal information we hold, in a portable format.
- Correction. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
- Deletion. We will delete what we are not required to keep. See the limits below.
- Opting out of marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or ask us.
- No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes we will provide a clear opt-out before it does.
- No retaliation. Exercising these rights will not affect your pricing, your terms or your account.
What we cannot delete, and why
We are a federal firearms licensee. Federal law requires licensees to keep records of disposition, so where your data is part of a record of a completed transaction we must keep it — typically for five years from the transaction — even if you ask us to delete it. The same applies to our account activity log, which is how we evidence that a licence was verified and who approved an account.
When you make a deletion request we will delete everything we lawfully can, and tell you specifically what has been retained and on what basis. We will not quietly keep data and report the request as completed.
How to make a request
Email privacy@cqtammo.com with the subject “Privacy request”, tell us what you want, and use the email address associated with your account where possible. If you have an account, signing in helps us verify you quickly.
We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. If we need longer we will tell you why and when. We may ask you to verify your identity before releasing data — for sensitive records we will ask for more than an email address, because handing your licence and financial details to someone who merely knows your email would be the greater harm.
An authorised agent may act for you if you give them written permission and we can verify it.
Documents containing government identifiers
If you uploaded a signed personal guaranty, it may contain a Social Security number. We will not put that document into a data-export archive, because those are delivered by download link. We will make it available to you through the portal or another secure channel instead.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, tell us and we will look at it again. You may also complain to your state attorney general, or to your supervisory authority if you are in a jurisdiction that has one.
